An HD Edition was released as a downloadable game for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network on September 20, 2011. A Wii port was also released on in Japan, Jin North America, Jin Europe and Jin Australia. A PC port developed by Ubisoft was released on March 2, 2007, and was generally criticized for its awkward control scheme and lack of new features compared to the original release. On October 25, 2005, it was released on the Sony PlayStation 2 with additional gameplay features but slight visual and aural downgrades, including a lack of shadow and lighting effects, reduced sound quality, as well as lower resolution textures and character models. Resident Evil 4 was ported to multiple platforms. The game debuted in North America on Janufor the Nintendo GameCube, and was later released in Japan and Europe. It is the sixth installment of the Resident Evil series.
Resident Evil 4 ( バイオハザード４, Baiohazādo Fō ?, known as Biohazard 4 in Japan often abbreviated as RE4) is a 2005 survival horror video game published and developed by Capcom. Despite being released on PC, however, it does not accommodate keyboard and mouse controls as it does not support mouse controls whatsoever, and in-game button prompts only references generic button numbers rather than actual keys from the keyboard. A patch was eventually released to address these issues and the poor visual downgrades.
The PC version initially shipped with none of the game's original lighting, lower quality textures, and introduced bugs and crashes that were not present in the previous console versions. Another port was released for PC on May 15, 2007, however, it was based off the inferior PlayStation 2 port rather than the superior GameCube version, with even more problems than the PlayStation 2 version. The game was released for the Nintendo GameCube on January 11, 2005, and despite originally being exclusive to that system, it was ported to PlayStation 2 on October 25 the same year. It is the fourth mainline installment in the Resident Evil series. Resident Evil 4 is a third-person action horror shooter developed by Capcom, ported by Sourcenext, and published by Ubisoft overseas and Capcom in Japan.
