This is highly possible since my experience with leaving a garage and coming back to it having a restored paintjob. In a theory the game just missreads the data for the car (saying, it missed the script where it's suppose to say there's a texture for it) and just leaves it white. The cars are saved in the actual game and when you come back to it, it doesn't "eat" the paintjob. If you ever went to a garage with a transparent window and watched it while the door opened, the cars only appear after the door begins to open. I don't think the game "eats" the paintjobs. When I got back to the garage THE PAINTJOB OF THE JESTER WAS BACK. I took the Uranus for a little spin on the freeway neaby and 5 minutes later i returned to get it repaired because some loser hit me. All the paint jobs stayed except for the Jester. After it got done, I went back to Hashbury. I managed to park a Jester, Sultan, Uranus, Stratum all in one garage in the garage at Hashbury all with custom paintjobs.
